Are You Trying Too Hard?
Why doing a weekly soul search can bring your goals into reality.
By Mary Robinson Reynolds, M.S. Educational Psychologist
There is a spiritual solution to every problem, and the good news is that you don't have to figure it all out by yourself. Certainly you have the power to be, do and have all that your heart desires. But have you noticed how difficult it is to keep yourself focused, motivated and committed toward those long term goals that you say you want?
Six months ago, Judith, a 61year-old Land Specialist, brought MasterMinding to her closest colleague and together in agreement that set a spiritual goal for him to bring in a designated amount of new business. Together they set goals and made a spiritual request that his job be saved at a time when her company felt they needed to cut back. Now, he's closing more than enough properties to keep the company solvent.
During the midst of the economic decline she has turned around more than ten impossible people and situations in purchasing land and presently has the #1 Top Land Developer in the country financially committed and totally intrigued by how she is making things happen where there "appeared" to be no hope!
She has also reduced her weight by fourteen pounds without dieting.
In the past year, Gina, a 48 year-old administrative assistant in a major corporation, has been steadily meeting the goals she set out for herself, because of her weekly goal achieving MasterMinding sessions.
She writes: "I am now meeting my goals one step at a time. It has not been as hard as I thought it would be. It took some courage to trust myself and go for it. Here's what I've done through MasterMinding and the power of my resolve:
Lost 16 lbs. without dieting, just MasterMinding. Putting things in perspective helped me release the weight.
MasterMinding also helped me take action regarding my 28 year-old step-son in taking charge of his life. He's now out of the house having the adventure of his life!
My brother in law, who went back to doing drugs, is now in drug rehab, and he's found his spiritual connection, finally. He's tried to depend on himself, and he now realizes that there is definitely something greater trying to happen.
The peace that came at the moment of my resolve, after the MasterMind Session, was indescribable, and I found that I had a 'skip to my step' that I haven't had in years.
MasterMinding gave me the approval I needed to believe in myself and to 'set energy in motion.' My marriage is also back on track, and Life Is Good."
Judith and Gina are "masterminders," someone who joins with another in agreement to achieve goals that previously have seemed unobtainable. Setting goals and inviting Infinite Intelligence to your weekly meetings in order to achieve new outcomes to old redundant problems are what give life rich meaning. When you make time for a weekly soul search, you begin to be true to yourself and begin to journey down the road less traveled.
In my new book, "MasterMinding: LIGHTNING in a Bottle" I emphasize that the reason why so many people are not achieving their financial, personal or health/weight goals, is not because they aren't trying hard enough or aren't disciplined enough. The reality is that we are trying to do too much by ourselves, void of the support that could be available to us through the energy of MasterMind partner(s).
MasterMinding is a spiritual - not religious - endeavor, as it definitely involves the recognition of a power greater than ourselves, the third invisible mind - the power of the MasterMind. Thousands of people have demonstrated dramatic, positive changes in their lives, and have experienced happy, successful living as a result of these principles being put into practice.
When I look at the dreams that have come true for me, I'm amazed at how many of them have occurred since a critical moment in 1989. You see, that's when I read Napoleon Hill's book, "Think & Grow Rich" and discovered the amazing power of the MasterMind Principle. This is a most powerful spiritual vehicle that we can utilize to create positive personal change in every area of life.
In Napoleon Hill's, "Think & Grow Rich," he tells us how he learned about MasterMinding from Andrew Carnegie, the richest self-made man on earth in his time. Carnegie told Hill that his wealth and success was due entirely to the MasterMind process. He explains that no individual may have great power without availing himself of the "Master Mind."
MasterMinding is based on the ancient premise that the combined energies of two or more like-minded persons is many, many times greater than the sum of the individual energies involved. The MasterMind Principle states:
"When two or more people coordinate in a spirit of harmony and work toward a definite objective or purpose, they place themselves in position, through that alliance, to absorb power directly from the great storehouse of Infinite Intelligence coming through the creative mechanism of each contributing mind."
There was a study conducted in which they measured how much weight two oxen could pull. They put the yoke on the first ox and measured the amount of weight he could pull, and then they did the same with the second ox. Finally they yoked the two oxen together, and they found that together, they could pull much more than the sum of what each could pull alone.
The key to MasterMinding is getting in touch with what you really want, making a decision about it, and then seeking the agreement of your partner(s) in "seeing" or visualizing it, and requesting spiritual assistance in bringing it about.
Many people have come to know and use the MasterMind Principle for goal setting, accountability, and for getting ideas and advice from selected partners. But most are totally missing out on what MasterMinding can really do to bring them a rich and rewarding spiritually oriented life. In this advanced new look at what MasterMinding can do to change your life, you need to learn not only how to do a soul search for the happiness you seek, but also how to bring your greatest goals into reality through applying the power of the MasterMind Principle in its highest form.
In our society, we are not taught to listen to our soul, via our intuition. In fact, we are taught to ignore the urgings of our inner spirit, believing we can't have what we want anyway. We have been judged, shamed and ostracized for many of our desires. The result of this is that we have become either too constricted or too loose with money, time, responsibilities, commitments and love.
Let's Get Started!
The number of people in a MasterMind partnership or group can be two, three and more. They must all be committed and play by the guidelines. I have facilitated MasterMinds all across the country. It can work with thousands of people or just a few. You can do it in person, at a group setting, and you can do it via telephone.
Here are a few simple steps for the Quickie, "on the run" MasterMinding with one or two friends, so you can get started right away.
"The Quickie"- on the run MasterMinding
1) Call or agree to meet with your best, most trustworthy girlfriend (or guy friend).
2) Talk for a few minutes about the problem(s), putting the emphasis on clearly defining what you don't want any more of, or what you want to eliminate from the situation, or from your life altogether.
3) Now, once you've gotten your energy released from what you don't want, you can shift your focus onto what you do want. The partner's job is to help you focus on answering this question, rather than going on, and on, about the problems. The emphasis here is on answering the question, "if you could have it any way you wanted it, what would that be?" You will begin by stating what you desire as a request, using this kind of language:
4) The partner's job here is to repeat back to you what you want, and to "see" for you that, not only that it can happen, but it is in the process of happening right now. Getting you both into the feeling of what it will feel like, and be like, is very important. Making time to give your partner a visual description of what you saw, as they were making their requests, is so powerful: it literally sets energy in motion. As you do this for your partner, focus on what they have asked for, without wandering into your idea of how it should be for them. And when your partner does it for you, it will blow you away. I feel my partner's vision with me throughout the week, especially when I get scared and start falling back into thinking that what I want is impossible, ridiculous or just crazy!
5) When each of you have made your requests, and have acknowledged each other's requests by "seeing" for each other what each of you has indicated as their desired results, then close your Quickie MasterMind Session with this statement: "We go forth with a spirit of enthusiasm, excitement, expectancy and peace. This or Something Better!"
Step three, focusing on what you do want, is often the hardest, and should be given the most time and deepest concentration in a MasterMinding session, even though you are essentially on the run, because we have a huge tendency to let ourselves want only what we believe is possible.
Remember here that the intent of MasterMinding is to go past what we presently believe is possible.
What you want in a MasterMind partner, and what you need to be as a MasterMind partner, is someone who can listen, and probe deeper, to get to the real honest desire of another. This absolutely can be done in a quickie session on the run. The responsibility of the MasterMind partner is not to give advice or direction. Through the power of the creative mechanism of two minds coming together, there will be creative ideas coming forth, but not necessarily during the actual asking of what is wanted. It is vitally important here to not get into "how" am I going to make this happen. But rather, keep each other's focus totally on what you are "deciding" you want to go for and make happen.
